Feel The Speed With A junior Powerboating Course

Since the mid-1970s, SailCork has been teaching juniors to sail and has pioneered the Powerboat Scheme in Ireland. Eddie English and his crew were the first powerboat school in Ireland to develop a unique scheme specifically for juniors.

The Junior Powerboat Course offers a hands-on introduction to boat handling skills in open-powered vessels. Juniors can choose between two levels: beginner and improver. These courses are designed specifically for children by a team of experienced powerboat instructors. Pupils learn how to be helpful crew members on a powerboat and develop the skills required to drive a powerboat, learning that safety comes first!
The course is designed primarily for juniors aged 13 to 15 and lasts two days.
A rainproof jacket and pants are required. Juniors will not be permitted to attend if they do not have the proper power boating equipment for all conditions. It is important to note that it can be cold on a powerboat due to the effect of wind at high speeds.
Upon completion of the course, they will be able to operate a powerboat confidently and safely under the supervision of a competent adult and be a helpful crew member on a powerboat and fully participate in family trips or RIB and other powerboats.
The Junior Powerboat course is more than just an instructor course; it is also a life skills course!
