Cobh is to be the wonderful setting for the filming of an episode of RTE’s leading food programme Taste of Success, with presenter Dáithí Ó Sé on Saturday 9th July.
The Caribbean Princess will be in Cobh all day and a bustling outdoor market will be set up for the day, selling tasty street food and other goods.
Taste of Success is a superb opportunity for food entrepreneurs to compete for a prize worth €100,000 and the chance to see their product in more than 140 Lidl Ireland stores nationwide. Contestants with wonderful food products as diverse as delicious bread, tasty new jam, sauce combinations, special occasion desert, new health food or confectionary have already entered the competition and progressed through the short listing process.
These food entrepreneurs have honed their product with a celebrity mentor. This year caterer to the stars, Eunice Power is the new mentor for the Munster region. She joins ‘Natural Born Feeder’ Roz Purcell, who is the Leinster mentor as the two new faces for the third series of the hit RTÉ One series. They are joined by Dublin mentor Domini Kemp, the mastermind behind the ITSA and alchemy brands and JP McMahon, Michelin starred restauranteur and mentor for the Connaught/Ulster region.
Lidl Ireland judges will have the final say on what new food product will make it onto supermarket shelves nationwide.
If you ever wanted to meet a celebrity, see how a TV show is filmed and even be in the show yourself, Cobh is the place to be this Saturday. You will enjoy a great atmosphere, sample some great food and could even be on television!
