Cobh People’s Regatta 2015

Known throughout Cork for its spectacular fireworks display, Cobh People’s Regatta encompases the whole weekend and is jam packed with free family friendly entertainment. The added bonus of the magnificent Royal Princess at the quayside throughout Saturday, the addition of a best dressed lady competition and perennial favourites such as the crab fishing event make Cobh a destination that should be visited on the weekend of 14th, 15th and 16th August 2015.

The last train from Cobh to Cork on Sunday night is at 10.30 pm.

COBH PEOPLE’S REGATTA PROGRAMME

Friday 14th August

7.30pm – Ballymore Cobh AC 4 Mile Road Race starting on Ticknock Hill

7.20pm – Sinead Sheppard’s School of Dance take to the Main Stage followed by the Regatta Dancers followed by Sarah Callinan School of Dance

7.30pm – The Burma band live on stage

8.50pm – Official Opening of 2015 Cobh Peoples Regatta

9.45pm – Performing on Main Stage Gaelic Brew, playing all your favourite  hits

11pm – Festival Club with Club C and The Animals till late in the Jack Doyle Room, Commodore Hotel.

1.45pm – Firing of First Gun for Dinghy Sailing

2pm – Rankin Revival (classic sailing dinghy’s made in Cobh in the 70s/80 )

Market Stalls open in the Promenade

Best Dressed Lady Contest Judging begins at The Promenade

2.30pm – Fancy Dress Parade leaving the Well House going to the Promenade where there will be lots of activities including Face Painting

– Fancy Dress Competition 3 to 7 yrs and 8 to 12 yrs

– Mini Queen Competition 8 to 12 yrs

– Pretty Princess Competition 4 to 7 yrs

– Mini King 8 to 12 yrs

– Handsome Prince Competition 4 to 7 yrs

4pm – Kids Got Talent  (local acts perform live on the Band Stand)

4.15pm – Presentation of Sailing Prizes

5.30pm Cobh Confraternity Band Recital on the Deep Water Quay

6pm Royal Princess sails

6.30pm – Local Band Dead end Friends start off the evening’s entertainment

8pm – Local Band Rock Lobster take to the Main Stage

9pm – Performing on Main Stage South Bound featuring Jamie Stanton. A great night assured.

11pm – Festival Club in the Commodore Hotel till late with The Full House performing in the Jack Doyle Room and DJ Mike Moloney in Club C.
