The 2013 Cobh St. Patrick’s Day Parade will take place on Sunday March 17th starting on the Low Road between Cobh Railway Station and Whitepoint at 3.30 pm. It will proceed through the town centre, finishing at the Old Town Hall on Lynch’s Quay.
In this the year of The Gathering Ireland 2013, all participants in the Cobh Parade and the General Public coming to view it are invited to embrace the theme “The Gathering Of The Green”.
This year’s Cobh St. Patrick’s Day Parade calls out to all those exiles abroad who left Ireland’s shores in the past through the harbour town of Cobh in Co. Cork to gather and celebrate Ireland’s national feast day. Millions of Irish people left Cobh, formerly Queenstown, and their descendants, the Irish Diaspora abroad are invited back to Cobh on March 17th for the traditional wearing of the green.
The entries in the parade will reflect life in Cobh, the Great Island and Cork Harbour in all its various guises by dressing up and creating imaginative entries for the occasion. Everyone is welcome to join in the fun!
