Australia Day in Cobh on 24th July was a resounding success with 1500 Australians and 400 Kiwis visited on the Dawn Princess as a part of its 105 day world cruise from Sydney to Sydney. The atmosphere in Cobh from the moment that the almost 2000 passengers stepped ashore early on the Sunday morning was good humoured. When the ship sailed at 3 pm it was as if thousands of locals had come out to wave off their best friends!
